Programme Recap of 2025

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) successfully co‑organised the Future Banking Bridging Programme 2025 (the Programme), a signature two-and-a-half-day initiative. Now in its fifth year, the Programme continues to serve as a vital platform for nurturing aspiring talent and strengthening their connections with the banking industry.


This year, the Programme welcomed over 300 students from 11 local universities. With the generous support of 13 leading banks, seasoned banking leaders delivered high-level training, while emerging bankers offered mentorship and facilitated dialogue—together creating a dynamic bridge between academic learning and industry practice.


Day 1 (4 November 2025)

Key Skills Training & Group Presentation Preparation

Students engaged in a series of key skills training sessions led by seasoned bankers, focusing on the four pillars of modern banking:

Banking Knowledge: GBA & Emerging Markets:

The sessions provided strategic insights and practical guidance, equipping students with essential skills for future banking careers.

Students from a broad spectrum of disciplines collaborated in teams to prepare 15‑minute presentations on the four pillars of modern banking. Guided by 20 mentors from 12 leading banks, they integrated classroom knowledge with real‑world perspectives, sparking lively exchanges and fostering interdisciplinary learning.

The day culminated in interactive discussions, where students engaged directly with banking professionals, gaining mentorship, valuable insights, and a deeper understanding of the industry.

Day 2 (18 November 2025)

Day 2 offered a vibrant mix of learning, sharing, and networking opportunities. Through interactive dialogues, captivating career journeys, compelling team presentations, and one-on-one exchanges with banking professionals, students gained a holistic view of the industry while exploring its diverse career pathways.


Bankers Dialogue

The Bankers Dialogue set the stage with six emerging bankers, each with less than a decade of industry experience, ensuring their perspectives resonate with the young participants. Drawing on real-life stories, they shared their career paths, passion, and practical tips for navigating the banking world. Their varied academic backgrounds—spanning engineering, chemistry, sciences, business and the arts— underscored that banking values talent from all disciplines, emphasising transferable skills such as analytical thinking, communication, and problem solving.

Group Project Presentations

Inspired by insights from the Bankers Dialogue, each team showcased creative, enlightening and well-researched presentations. Peer voting recognised two Best Performing Teams, who earned the opportunity advance to Day 3 for job shadowing and an exclusive tour of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited.


Networking Corner

The afternoon featured an engaging Networking Corner, where students visited 12 booths and connected with 37 banking HR professionals from leading banks. This dynamic exchange gave students a chance to discover career pathways, ask questions, gain insider perspectives, and lay the groundwork for future internships and professional growth.
